I am posting this message to inform you that you have an opportunity to meet with one of the University of Melbourne's leaders from the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences. The Faculty's Associate Dean (International), Professor Lesleyanne Hawthorne, is visiting Canada between Tuesday, May 13, and Friday, May 16, 2008.

The purpose of Professor Hawthorne's visit to Canada is to meet with students who may be interested in studying at the University of Melbourne. She will be holding an information seminar and has set aside time to meet one-on-one with students who wish to speak with her in person. Through the information seminar and/or private meeting, you have the opportunity to receive in-depth information about the University, its programs and the Medical/Health Sciences fields, as well as discussing your application.
Professor Hawthorne will also provide further details regarding the University of Melbournes new graduate entry four year Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) and Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) programs which commence in 2011.
Accreditation Update
Professor Hawthorne is the pre-eminent world authority on accreditation processes and systems. Since 2005, Professor Hawthorne has been commissioned by the Canadian federal government to conduct an analysis of factors determining the outcomes of Canada's skill migration policy relative to Australia's, including the situation of overseas trained doctors and nurses.
This past week, Professor Hawthorne was the keynote speaker after the Citizenship and Immigration Canada Minister at the major Canadian conference on foreign credential recognition.
If you are interested in the latest developments in accreditation policy in Canada, you should not miss meeting one-on-one with Professor Hawthorne or attending one of the information seminars.
