At what point should you seek a podiatrist for an excision of a plantar wart?

I treated a plantar wart with over the counter plantar wart removal pads with salicylic acid three times. The plantar wart grew back every time. At this point should I seek a podiatrist for an excision? The plantar wart is not very large.
