Well, as I have been miserable lately, after having been told that i applied very late and will most likely have to do this for another year (2nd year applicant, undergrad 3.25 overall, 3.0 bcpm univ of penn, post bacc at drexel last year 3.4, postbacc courses now while doing research 3 courses so far - 4.0, improved mcat from 29 to 32 via august 2005).....atleast i found out today that 1 of my letters of recommendation was really great - the professor told me today, for some reason ...... he wrote about how after i found out that his son has diabetes (the same disease i have) that i stayed after class to answer any of his questions and as he wrote "i provided him with a more succinct explanation than the entire staff of children's hospital..." i dunno....it might be minor - but it made me feel good....
