If you are already accepted to a school you are in love with don't go. I am sure some people would love to go to an interview there.

I hate these posts - but not enough not to read them or, i guess, post one of them myself.

I have an interview coming up at Vermont and am not sure I want to go, especailly if they are going to waitlist me because I am OSS. I already have an acceptance at a school I love and have already attended many other interviews and am waiting on decisions, and I don't know much about Vermont other than the location, the class size, and the average stats. What are some good things about the school? What is the curiculum like? Those who attended, what was your general impression of the school - what other schools is it similar to?

Thanks. sorry to be one of these people. I am strongly leaning towards not going, but want to make sure I have all the info before deciding not to.

well, if you have one you want, keep it, and leave VT for those of us who are waiting on whether or not we get an interview....don't be greedy!

I interviewed there and I have to say that it was nice; the facilities are brand new, the students are down to earth, Burlington is gorgeous (although relatively expensive), the curriculum is honors/pass/fail. The only drawback is the price tag, especially for out of staters. Tuition is like 41,000/yr and there is absolutely no way to gain instate status during you time there. If you're already in at a school that you really love, especially if it's instate for you, then I'd skip out on it.

The excellent quality of the education, low stress, high-yield. A #9 US News ranking in primary care is also a bonus. They select an amazing group of students, and the small class size pretty much brings everyone together. A lot of us Californians (and many of our classmates) used to get together for bbqs, horseshoes, bocce ball, beer and Laker games on the weekends (before the snow, of course). In the winter, we'd be found at RJ's for $2 Labatts and free chicken wings. It was an awesome experience.

It changed after my year ('06), but the years behind me seem to be very well-prepared for the clinical years. In retrospect, starting third year in March of the second year is priceless.

I was apprehensive about going to UVM, but I would not give it up for anything - even the large amount of cost. I feel like I am very well prepared for internship - the school emphasizes clinical education and trains you to become a physician - not a regurgitator of information.

You say you have an acceptance to a place you love, but if you don't interview at another school, you may never know if was an even better choice for you - or it may be one that seals the deal for your other choice.
