The AMCAS app has a spot for "Conferences Attended." I've always thought it'd be interesting to go to a medical conference, but I'm not sure why it's listed on the AMCAS app. Is it desirable? Must one present in order to include it on the app?

What kind of conferences are they referring to? Research? Medical Specialty?

How the heck do you get in? Shell out cash? :)

I assume they wanted to know if you had presented posters or attended one of the more selective research conferences. Of course, I'm sure people list stuff like the Southwestern Illinois Pre-Med Jamboree.

I think you can mention it if you simply attended a conference without presenting something. I would only put down serious stuff though, like the Annual Meeting of the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, or something like that.
