ATTN: CanHelp loan cancelled for Canadians going international

Hi everyone,

I'm not sure if word has gotten around about the latest developments with regards to CanHelp, so I'll post what I know.
Apparently, as of April 18th, 2008, the CanHelp loan program has been discontinued for Canadian students seeking to finance their studies abroad (it has been replaced with another loan for those seeking to study in the US). More info can be found here:

=( This is bad news for people like me, who need as many loans as they can get. Like some ppl on this forum, I was accepted but am having trouble finding a co-signer and am not getting any love from the banks going solo because of my lack of assets.

A lot of Canadians use bank loans from companies like RBC. Its not the end of the world.
