Hi,

Why did you close out my thread on transfer from SGU to USA.. on the Allopathic Forum...just because SGU was mentioned? I am as much in an Allopathic program as anyone here, so don't feel it's inappropriate to be posted here. I was getting more feedback here than I was in the international forum.

I did not close the thread just because SGU was mentioned. I closed it for the following reasons:

1) SDN frowns upon posting multiple threads on the same topic. Since you have posted this very same topic in mutiple forums, I simply adhered to the SDN rules and closed all but one.

2) While your question may have gotten more responses in the Allopathic Forum, it is more appropriate in the International forum because you ARE inquiring about a non-US medical school. All questions regarding the same should be posted in the International Forum. You will find that the posters who troll that forum are generally more knowledgeable about being an IMG than those who troll the other forums.

3) Most users read ALL THE FORUMS; hence if someone desires to respond to your question it should not matter in which forum it is placed. They will find it and respond accordingly.

I'm sorry if you feel this was unfair or irrational on my part. I am simply trying to keep the forums as they were designed. Please feel free to review the SDN posting policies and email or Private Message me (my email address is available) should you have any further questions.

Hey kimberli,

Whereas I've enjoyed and even been recepient of your usual thoroughality in all your past postings here on SDN (not to mention how you've stayed on even after start of residency ) I have to disagree with you here.

I know it had nothing to do with the Carribean school but I think the audience the poster was trying to target (and naturally so) were current med students (U.S.). It would be among these folks that you would find those who transferred and could render him good advice.

I know that there are many current med students that would never go over to the International Forum, for various reasons. They mostly don't have the time.

C'mon give him a break. This is obviously very important to him since it involves the well being of his family. Without good and accurate feedback from the Allo Forum he probably won't get any. Thanks guys for standing behind me on this one. I was trying to target the US Med Students, hoping that I may reach someone that transferred or was familiar with this topic. I kind of figured that many US Med Students don't look much at the International forum...I mean why would they, so that is a reason I posted in this forum. Anyway, thanks.
