Hey Guys,

I am thinking about auditing a class, and I was just wondering if that is advisable. I am a junior majoring in chem e, and my gpa is a 3.85 right now. I am taking an elective civil engineering class and I am getting a C in the class only because i have been doing a lot this semester, (4 engineering classes + studying for the mcat + extracirriculars) so its been really busy! I plan on taking the class next semester, I just dont' want to risk getting a C since I am going to apply in the summer. Do you guys think that that auditing this class is a bad idea? Are audits viewed badly by the admissions committe?
Thanks for your input

Doesn't auditing just mean that you go to a class with the professor's permission, but don't submit any work or get graded? If that's the case it won't show up on your transcript and med-schools won't have any idea that you were there. I audited a class during my sophomore year, and it didn't interfere any with my gpa. I think it's just a matter of pure interest. If you run tight on time, you can just skip a class and it won't matter. That's the beauty of auditing, at least at my school.
