August MCAT and Interviews

Hey folks,

I think I remember there being some interest about this.

I took the August MCAT. My file at Loyola University Chicago was complete somewhere in the week of October 15 when my final rec letter was submitted along with my MCAT scores arriving. I received an inteview invitation(my first one!) today, November 3, and my interview is scheduled for November 15. Any questions, just let me know and if there is anybody out there who knows what the interview is like at Loyola, I'd apreciate your comment on the process. Take heart August MCAT takers, we can still get interviews!

I haven't interviewed at Loyola, but I did apply there. My application was complete about one week before yours. However, I have not received any kind of communication from them. Did you happen to receive a card or some kind of notification that your application was complete before they invited you for an interview?

I did recieve a postcard about 2-3 days ago that my file was complete and had been forwrded to the admissions committee.

Hey, I don't know if you already know about this site interviewfeedback.com but i highly recommend it for anyone who wants to know what interviews at particular schools are like and what questions they've asked past interviewees.

Good job ask698! I had my secondary completed (except for the August Mcat) in late July, but haven't heard a thing!

KMorris3--are you going to call them to see what is going on?

I'm an august mcat taker too and I just got interview offers from NYU and Vanderbilt, but they are full until January. I guess that is the fate of us August MCAT folks...just wait wait wait.

I also took the August MCAT, and I'm so excited I just got my first interview. It's at UW-Madison on Dec. 1st. Does anyone know last years stats on the number of WI residents interviewed that got accepted? Thanks! Good Luck Everyone!

Half of UW-Madison grads get accepted to the medical school, is alls I know.

I took the Aug. MCAT and have two interviews:
UMinn on 12/1
Temple on 1/31

Hey Ask698,
I heard that Loyola notifies applicants of interviews via telephone and not mail. Any truth to this? If so, what time of day did they call you? Thanks.

Msepo,

Loyola informs applicants of interviews by phone first. Once they have you scheduled for a date and time, they send out a packet of information that includes a confirmation letter, viewbook, etc. I can't remember exactly when they called because they left a message on my machine, but it was sometime in the early afternoon. Let me know if you have any other questions.
