Looking through the august interview invite thread, I noticed most of the schools I applied to a lot of others haven't interviewed yet but haven't been rejected either. So I'm thinking if we see a lot of people still clueless it will give us a general idea where we stand.

also, ive already gotte rejected from boston, georgetown, and case...

so if u guys haven't heard anything, then that means you're in the running....

case actually looked at ALL the august mcaters on the day scores came by. i got rejected on oct.17........... same thing with georgetown

boston sent out a rejection email the week after

Good info. Thanks. If anyone has any data like this, throw it up. If the thread gets to 10 pages I'm gonna update my AMCAS with a link to show off my skills.

I doubt it. I was complete in September except for scores and I got rejected from Case and Gtown as well (along with others), but my letters were dated early November. Both were snail mail, if anyone's wondering.

because i actually called them after getting rejected.......... dont ask me why i called.... its a really stupid reason....

and i got rejected early one because i also have an april mcat score... which parallels my august score... i was complete back in july... so i'm actually in the first batch.

i just joined SDN, same august MCATer. I got rejections from northwestern, vanderbilt, so they must have gotten through the applications.. I got interview from dartmouth though.. anybody have an advice on interview at dartmouth? (never had a interview before..)

Check out the Interview feedback forum (SDN homepage, there's a link on left, I think). You can choose the school in the drop-down menu, I think they're very helpful feedback for interview prep, and what to expect.
I found it very accurate.
 
I took the August MCAT with no other scores on record.

I heard back from UCLA almost immediatly. UCSD the day after UCLA..

UCSF and Yale I heard from last week..

Still waiting for Hopkins, Cornell, Columbia, Stanford, and Harvard... All these were complete late October.. le sigh..

This thread is very reassuring to me. I am going to rate it 5 stars!
 
I have developed a hypothesis from reading this thread and several others (ChicagoMed/RFU):

These schools are purposely not contacting us in hopes that we will become discouraged/pissed-off enough to just withdraw our apps. It's a win/win for them: less work in reviewing and fewer applicants to have to choose from.

Granted, this is only based on one or two observations, but I wouldn't be an anthropologist if I didn't draw generalizations based on a handful of observations!

With this in mind (the hypothesis, not the questionable nature of anthropological methodology) we need to be strong, hold on to those apps with all our strength. They will review us! They will acknowledge us! We will be counted!

I think they stop interviewing by Dec 16h or 17th. When I called last week, they said if you don't hear anything by the first week of December, it's pretty much over. That doesn't leave much time, so I'm not too optimistic about getting an interview there ... :scared:

Thanks for the info. That really doesn't leave much time - bummer! This process is so discouraging. But it definitely makes me feel better that so many other August MCATers haven't heard a whole lot from schools, if anything at all.

To those of you who applied to AECOM...I called them today and they said that they are sending out my status update next week (meaning either a rejection letter or a packet of information for an interview). Hopefully we will all get something positive from them next week.

Yes, that's what I was told.

To add to what Carrie said about AECOM, they apparently have about 400 interview invites that they are mailing out after Thanksgiving (this is from the assistant dean of admissions) ... but they are NOT sending any more until next week. Hopefully, we'll all be among those 400. :)
