Were any complete more that 2 months before being sent an invite. I've been complete since 10/26 and haven't heard anything. I've heard folks who were complete in late November and already interviewed.

Does this mean I'm on hold at UCLA (Do they notify you for pre-interview holds?)

How many of these people you know who were complete in late november and already interviewed? Like you, I was complete ~11/1 and haven't heard a thing. Kind of a bummer...

Do you know if UCLA notifies formally (email, etc) of holds?

I would think it would be via snail mail, or possibly your status page. They don't do anything by e-mail or phone. (Weird.) I hope you hear from them soon, derf! They need to get their act together! 👍

But I guess the bright side is they haven't given acceptances yet, so I'm really not that behind, i think

Thanks. Yeah, I'm getting a little nervous, but I think I am just anxious for this quarter to get rolling.

Oh, also, I don't recall any additional interview invites after that initial "batch" way back when. Maybe they are just waiting to see how many acceptances they will dish out with the first round before inviting more people. Anyway, good luck! (Did you watch the game last night? 😱 😍 )

I think you were talking about me. I was complete at UCLA in late November but I also took the April MCAT and did pretty well. UCLA notifies you regarding an interview via their status page and also via snail mail. Don't worry so much! 🙂

With next years recruiting class, Howland will finally have *his* team and then look out!

Thanks to you guys, I happened to stumble upon this thread today and saw UCLAstudent's post suggesting that UCLA/Geffen may notify applicants about interviews via their status page. Apparently they are now ramping up the interview process again. After I logged in, it stated that an interview was requested on January 4th. I imagine they are also sending out notice via snail mail as well, since nothing arrived through email. I was complete around mid november or so, for anyone who's curious. I am sure there are more coming--keep us posted!!

thanks for the post crim; ive been checking my page all the time since i was complete back in mid nov too. Do you mind me asking what kind of stats you have; the other poster that recieved an interview and was complete in nov. seems to have had a very good mcat. Anyway, just curious, thanks and good luck with the interview!

Hay—I have stats which are similar to the averages as given by US News for UCLA. So there’s nothing especially spectacular there. However, I did try to highlight other aspects of my application, including extracurricular experiences (i.e. I teach a couple courses at my alma mater, published papers on cancer research, etc). I’m sure you and derf will be hearing good news from them soon! 😉

UCLAstudents—again, many thanks! How did your interview go at UCLA? I hope it went extremely well.

Derf—yes I was an August MCATer, and was complete around November 11th or so.

i was complete at UCLA on 11/8 and I'm still waiting to here from them. I'm an August MCATer as well. When I called last Friday to check on my app. they said is was in the committee right that minute. I wonder if that's good or bad news. I'm patiently waiting...

does anyone know if they have a hold process similar to other UCs. Has anyone ever gotten a hold pre-interview at UCLA?

I was complete 10/26 and folks complete after this date are getting responses. I could only assume they have internal holds within their process.
