When are you submitting your AMCAS?
How many weeks or months does it usually take for AAMC and the schools to process the applications?

I got a really bad score this time... PS/BS-9, VR-6 (English as 2nd Language), WR-O... 🙁 So I'm definitely re-taking.. 😡 🙁 But I just want to see when's the latest to submit AMCAS if I want to allow ample time for its processing and other miscellaneous paperwork by the schools, such that my apps will be ready to go once I get back my scores in October... When's the latest to submit the AMCAS if I want that to happen?

I am just hoping to balance my studying of the MCAT (need to do that full force now) with my personal statement writing (just started brainstorming ideas). Getting really worried now... Hopefully I can hear some advice on this from you guys soon, I would really appreciate it. Thanks for reading this.

Unless you have money to spend you can apply now..otherwise, it would be a waste if (for example) you did not do well again and already turned in your application.

Another piece of useful advice from abyssinianson: (Thanks!! 🙂 )

But just note that, as abyssinianson pointed out, this piece of info MAY NOT apply to all schools. The key is to not to move the focus on doing well on the test to worry about AMCAS. One thing to make sure is to realize that MCAT is an important of the application.
As a fellow MCAT retester, I want everyone to do as well as they can with the least amount of distraction.

I think that it would be much more advantageous to mention that getting in all your secondaries and credentials as soon as you can after the August MCAT is a much more effective application measure because it is a part of the process that you CAN control.
the review process for AMCAs application doesn't actually start until July so, if you submit around August, get ALL of your credentials in by Sept, and complete the secondaries before October, you ought to be in good shape. I plan to do these measures, and cut down considerably on the review process where I can since getting your application in as early as possible is key to getting interviewed and admitted successfully.

There is a caveat to all of this, of course. All of my efforts, and their success, hinges on my success on the Aug MCAT. I did bad but had an even score althroughout, which in a way is good. I don't think I settled in on a good pace during the test which, most likely, is what killed my focus and confidence.
