Does anyone know any specific information on Australian or New Zealand Medical schools and the opportunities one would have if they went there? I have looked at the Universities and they start in the January-February time frame. Also, most accept international students. I am wondering if they are equivalent to our schools? Would it be foolish to attend an Australian school if I had an acceptance at an American DO or MD school? I could still practice in the states so long as a did a residency here, right? Would it be more difficult to attain a residency coming from there?I think it would be a great opportunity to live and experience the culture of New Zealand, Australia and the South Pacific islands. OR should I just go to a US school and either do a residency over there or move after residency.

You've already missed the app date for next year to most Australian schools (June 27th). I think going to an Austalian school might look better than a school in the Bahamas, but if you really want to practice in the US with the least amnt of trouble, you might want to look into doing a rotation there. Then you can get an idea of whether you like it there and would want to spend more than a few weeks there.
