For those of you that work at pharmacies, what's the average number of prescriptions your store fills per day?

About 400 a day, though I just did a rotation at a grocery store pharmacy that only did 200 a day. For two weeks, I worked at a store that did 50 a day. It was soooo boring.

150 to 185 during the week, usually 80/day on weekends.

newer store. Only about 30 a day. Usually there is only a pharmacist and maybe a tech for a few hours during the day.

Ooh. Independent pharmacy. That's what I want to do! How do you like it?

400++

175 average for a independent pharmacy. I've seen as high as 300's and below 100, but at least 175 most days.

the owner is a close friend of mine....so its a very laid back environment 😎

We get about 200/day at Longs, but now that Walgreens stopped accepting MediCal... it's been getting really busy up to 300+/day.

24 hr sav-on mon-tues avg 600-700 wed-fri 550 sat-sun 250-300

24 hr is fun b/c you work with 2 pharmacists, 2 interns, 4 techs, 6 clerks at once. makes the time go by fast during the week and 1 pharmacist, 5 interns, 7 clerks on weekends.

Have any of you ever worked/intern/volunteer in an in-patient pharmacy? Currently I'm volunteering in one near my school and all the pharmacists seem pretty happy and really busy. What are the differences between the retail setting vs. hospital? I hope to work in a retail pharmacy after 1-2 years of volunteering at the hospital so I'd like to know what I might expect if changing to the retail atmosphere. I talked to someone who volunteered in a different in-patient pharmacy than I did and he said was that he hated it, that most of the pharmacists seemed unhappy. What are some pros and cons of these two settings?....thanks!

I volunteered and now work at an in-patient pharmacy; we do about 60 prescriptions/day (5 days per week). We only have 14 beds, and most of our patients are home-based, but we do home deliveries of their meds via courier and ups. We do a lot of compounding. I'm learning a lot, and the pharmacist and tech love their job, so it makes it so much fun to work there, although all of our patients are dying 🙁

CVS in Maryland

We do 400-500 a weekday and 200-300 on the weekend days
