Where were you working that you were getting paid so little you're 1st yr out? Not judging just asking. I know plenty of grads that made 120 to 150k their first year out.no one here ever really talks about money but here's my history as an associate just because i was always curious myself
year 1 ~ 90k
year 2 ~ 120k
year 3 ~ 180k
year 4 ~ on track for a little over 200k
tangential to the thread, but it appears you were able to secure a job offer well in advance of your graduation date next year.Straight out of school, my first job offer was 130k 4.5 days a week, no bennies, no CE reimbursement in semi-rural America. Needless to say, turned it down.
How'd that turn out for you ?What I was offered is pretty much what you can expect in these parts. Mostly I hear the standard is 140k for 5 days. Chains owned by dentists typically start 150k 5 day workweek with occasional Saturday that include benefits. Some folks in my class have something lined up and signed.
For me I decided to apply for residencies unless there is an offer I can't refuse come April.
