When I was doing this problem, I did (2.85E-2+0)/2 as my last step because average v is (Vf+V0)/2. In this case, do we not incorporate initial velocity into since it's asking for average?

When you're doing V=d/t you're already taking the average velocity, assuming constant acceleration. What you're describing is like taking the average of the average
