    Hello All,

What are people placing for Contact Info etc. for say being on the Deans List. I have left it blank for the time being, are we really supposed to come up with a name contact name etc. because we were on the deans list or some other type of award.

    Thanks

I left it blank as well. I just wrote a little description of the requirements to be on the list and that was it.

yeah, i think i put a contact person -- someone who could say that i really got the award. it wasn't for dean's list, though. i don't know who you could put for that. the dean?? hee hee. maybe you could just put the name of the registrar or whoever would know.

I'd put the dean. It is his/her list. It's not like anyone is going to check it anyway, unless you have a 2.5 for the semester.

I am of the opinion that the Deans list should not be mentioned at all on the application. Every competitive medical school candidate has been on it. Why should the admissions committee care about it, when they have your overall GPA right in front of them. I don't think that it is a notable accomplishment.

  7. Whoever signs your award is the contact person. Not like they will contact them anyway, but that's the way to do it.

I have heard of someone(either AMCAS or a Medical School)checking back with contact people about certain irregualrities. I would not embellish these secondaries one bit people. We have come to a point in our lives where what we say and do now sticks with us for life.

When I applied last year I didn't bother to list the deans list stuff. Med schools can already see what your grades are, and listing deans list stuff just takes up space. In my opinion, listing it doesn't help in any way.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but this is the same question I have. I cannot find which Dean is in charge of the list there are a lot at my school.. And the info is not available on the school website. Can I just list the first and last name as Registrar Office and their phone number on my AMCAS?

I believe I put my school's registrar as the contact person for my awards/honors.
