What's ok/not ok to include?

Undergrad scholarships?

Pending Publications (when you know the piece of literature will be released but are not sure of the exact date)?

Well, you get 15 spots on your AMCAS. If you can fit everything you need, EC's, research experience, and your honors/awards, then include everything. Otherwise, I would recommend including the more prestigious things/the things that mean most to you.

As for pending publications, I would say include them if they've passed the review stage. If the reviewers haven't accepted your paper for publication though, it would be dishonest to say the publication is "pending." You could mention that you've submitted a paper for publication to X journal when you talk about your research experience.

Has the paper been accepted by the peer review process? If so than go ahead and list it. Also, a lot of journals now have an ePub feature, which means accepted papers are available on PubMed before it is even printed. If this is the case you can list the ePub cite. Might be worth checking up on.

If it hasn't been accepted (AKA it is still in the review process) than you should mention that it was submitted to the journal when you list the research experience. When it is accepted, it will make for a very nice addition for an update letter this coming fall or winter.
