Does anyone know a good and fast way to go from Baltimore to Washington DC [distance 45 miles]? Subway, AMTRAK,...? After my Baltimore interview I need to go to New Jesery for another interview. I won't have much time in Baltimore. I have two interviews right before my Baltimore interview.

I'd also like to know a good and safe way to go from Newark to Columbia and NYU.

P.S. PLANE TICKETS: $64 (including TAXES) from DC to Newark but $240 from Baltimore to Newark 😱 $87 from Indianapolis to Batimore but $240 from Indianapolis to DC. 😱

you can take the path train from newark to 33rd street/herald sq, then take the 1,9 or a,c,e up to columbia.. or if you want to go to nyu first from newark.. you can take the path train from newark to 23rd street and take the m23 crosstown bus or walk 5 blocks crosstown to nyu
the path train is only $1.50 per trip .. i hope that helps!

Greyhound b/w Maryland & Philly. Seriously, it's easy & way cheaper than Amtrak.

For Baltimore to DC.... There is a bus that runs from the Baltimore Airport and drops you off at the very last stop on the green subway line. From there you can take the green line into DC. Look into that, I recall it being a nice way to get between the two - especially when the flights are soooo much cheaper into Baltimore.

Besides taking the PATH train from Newark to NYC, you could also take NJ transit train from Newark to Penn Station. At Penn Station you would easily take the "E" or "C" train 1 stop north (Port-Authority 42nd St.) and switch to the "A" train (same platform, just step out of the E or C and wait for the A to show up). NJ Transit trains cost under $5 between Newark & Penn Station. Getting to NYU would be a little more challenging by subway from Penn Station or the PATH station, look at a map or take a cab, probably a $12 or so ride. If you take the PATH train to the Herald Square Station (Macy's - 6th Avenue), you will have to walk outside a little bit to get to the "A" or "1" train to go to Columbia. The rest of the trains raz mentioned will take you north, but not far north enough to Columbia, you will have to switch at some point.

my 'two cents' is to take the A train (it's express) or the C and transfer to the A when possible. i rarely take the 1 (there's no more 9) because at 168 (where columbia is) it's just a weird subway station and you have to take an elevator (this is me being weird) but if you haven't been to columbia it might be a little uneasy---on the A I feel more comfortable, but that's just me.
