hey guys,

i'm interested in doing research in neurobiology. Is that something I could get a Ph.D. in, (or would I get Neurosciences or something). Also is Neurobiology research considered basic science or clinical?

Sorry for such dumb questions.

At most places neurobiology research would fall under the Neurosciences department, although there will also be some in psychology, BME, etc. It would also most likely be considered basic science research, but depending on what you're interested in you could veer more towards clinical applications.

By the way, if you're at Stanford there are a TON of big-name neuroscience researchers who love to have undergrads work for them. You'll do mainly grunt work at first, but if you stick with it for awhile you'll probably be given more and more responsibility (depending on who you work with, your interest/enthusiasm level, etc.).
