hey guys, well I am going to the MMEP at Baylor/Rice and wanted to know if anyone else is going. Also please share any MMEP experiences you may have. Thanks 🙂 .

Congratulations, Well I went to UAB MMEP program back in 2000, and it was a very great experience. I hope you have lots of fun and study hard as well.

Hey Phaeton_1,

I did the Baylor/Rice MMEP last summer. It was a really cool experience and I'm very glad I did it. I think you get a good taste of what med school will really be like. The preceptorship aspect is definitley one of the best parts. I'm headed back to Baylor this fall for med school, yay! Best of luck to you. Have a great time.

I posted some comments about Baylor's MMEP program on a previous thread last week that you might be interested in. Just search for Baylor MMEP and it should pop up.

hey tej77, thanks for response. How do you think your attending MMEP at Baylor affected their decision to accept you? It seem s like it would really perpetuate them to decide on you. Anyhow, just wondered about this aspect, someone else had commented in another MMEP thread that they might offer guarenteed interviews to participants that did well, anyone know anything about this. Thanks.

I'm not sure about the correlation, but there are quite a few people at Baylor who did the Baylor MMEP program. They don't guarantee you an interview or anything, but it is a good opportunity for you to make inroads and connections. You definitely have to make that effort yourself, though. Nothing is a given. You do, however, have coursework at both Rice and Baylor that are for real credit. I'm sure if you do well, that can't do anything but help you.

Best wishes,
