on these programs.

is baylor houston still average on MSK/outpt?

which one of these offers "best over-all, if not a little more emphasis on MSK/outpt, EDUCATION"? Temple, UCLAVA, Johns Hopkins, and Columbia-Cornell?

Lastly, any (even random) thoughts on the five programs above would ge GREATLY appreciated... 😕

Depends on what you mean by MSK/outpt. Do you mean MSK/oupt training during residency, exposure to procedures during residency, or increasing chances of getting a MSK/outpt fellowship/job? I think those are different things. For example, many programs may not have as much exposure to MSK procedures during residency but they place their graduates in very good fellowships and they train their residents well in terms of MSK didactics. I know at RIC you will not log hundreds of procedures unless you are really motivated. (there was one person who actually did log hundred + 🙂 ) BUT, you get some of the best MSK teachers in the country here. Most of the MSK courses at the recent AAPMR conference were taught by ppl who either trained at RIC or are currently teaching at RIC.

Not too sure about some of the programs on your list but I know Baylor has placed many into very highly regarded MSK fellowships because of the name and reputation it has in the PM&R world. Temple also has produced very high quality residents who landed competitive fellowships. So if you are fixated on logging procedures during residency so you can use that experience getting a MSK/outpt job, then your focus is obviously quite different from if you are wanting to get the best MSK training and land a fellowship. BTW, I think it would be pretty high risk to try to only use your experience during residency to perform higher risk procedures. (Maybe joint injections and lumbar ESI, but wouldn't do much else.)

hope this helps.

I meant during residency. Thank you, RIC person who's trying to survive the first chicago winter! I would appreciate it if anyone else had any opinions at all!
