I just had an experience that I think might be helpful to some of you:
Yesterday I called a NY school and to tell them that I would be in town for two weeks on interviews and that I would be very available to come to their school. They told me my application was still under review but that I should fax them my available dates.
I did, and less then 24 hours later, I had an invitation in my email referring to the fax. I find this particularly exciting because for the first time in this entire process, I feel like I made something happen, rather than had something happen to me.
