I just had an experience that I think might be helpful to some of you:

Yesterday I called a NY school and to tell them that I would be in town for two weeks on interviews and that I would be very available to come to their school. They told me my application was still under review but that I should fax them my available dates.

I did, and less then 24 hours later, I had an invitation in my email referring to the fax. I find this particularly exciting because for the first time in this entire process, I feel like I made something happen, rather than had something happen to me.

were you given any interview later than the 2 weeks you would be in town??

This was posted in 2001 by someone who has 37 posts so I doubt you'll get an answer. I'm assuming they wouldn't do that because the entire point of sending availability was to make it convenient for him to do an interview while in town (for a day or two). I still can't believe that fax machines are relevant after 10 years though.

Holy crapsicles!!! How is this thread still alive after 10 years?!?!? 😱 I'd figure it would end up in the archive.
