greetings to all, i am currently a high school incoming senior seeking advice about going from college to dental school. i heard people talk about taking two years college and then going straight into dental school for 3 (one dentist told me there is only one dental school that offers 3 years after 2 years of college) or 4 years.

my questions are:
had anybody in this forum done this before?

how hard was it (as in how much does this affect your social life and what's the average work load)?

would you recommend UCI or Cal state fullerton?

would you recommend just taking four years of college instead of the two years?

and include anything you would recommend or advise! thank you very much for your time

ps sorry for such a brief and unprofessional type up... flying out of the country in 13 mins.

the only program ive heard of is UOP's 2+3, 3+3 or 4+3 program. There is no way you can go from high school straight to dental school but you can do 2 years undergrad at university of the pacific in stockton and then you are "guaranteed" an interview at UOP (dental school in SF). Of course the 2+3 program is very competitive...but hey if you have the stats then go for it...best of luck

why are you in such a hurry?

how about you enjoy college. enjoy the maturation process of leaving home and figuring stuff out on your own.

how about you take school seriously for four years and get good grades, but also have fun.

chug a beer or two. hook up with some ladies.

I assume you're in such a hurry because of the money. You want money as soon as possible. However, you'll be much richer in LIFE EXPERIENCES if you go 4+3 or 4+4.

think about it.

Go to UCI, I have heard it has a great city, school is not too tough so you can manage a good gpa but still a good school name. Don't know about Cal states.

thank you very much guys for your input on the topic. i guess i'll play it slow and take the 4 year course then. is there anything you guys would recommend me doing as i get ready to go to college? i still don't have a solid stand on which college i want to go to. it's still either uci and csu fullerton. if anybody has a good comparison between them and feel free to post
