Hi everyone, Ive been looking at similar posts, but none of them (that I saw at least) have a similar situation, so I was wondering if I could get some guidance.

I am currently in my Freshman year of college, Im in a community college (for monetary purposes).
My plan was to transfer from my community college to a University, and then hopefully go to Med-School.

However, Ive always waned to study in the Uk and actually live there, and now that I have a few friends that moved over there, I have contacts, and even was offered a place to stay. The goal seems more attainable.

I don't exactly know how to make that happen though...what would be the steps to transfer successfully AND be able to study medicine?

Edit:
To clarify: if I were to get accepted into a medical program in the U.K I will stay and practice medicine in the U.K. If I move there, I stay there. Same thing with the U.S if I get into medical school in here, I will stay and practice here. I don't necessarily care where I practice

(This is my first post so, If there is other information you would like to know, let me know)

If your intention is to become a physician in United States, going to medical school (or undergrad) in UK is not a good idea.

It knocks your residency matching chances down significantly, so go for a us medical school. Do a study abroad while in undergrad

I guess I did not make it clear...If, I were to get into whatever medical program the UK offers I will not be going back to America to become a doctor. I don't necessarily care where I practice. If I get into a medical school in the U.S I stay in the U.S, If i get into a medical program in the U.K then i stay in the U.K

I will have to try and edit my original post but, what I mean is that if I were to get accepted into a medical program in the U.K I will stay and practice medicine in the U.K. If I move there, I stay there. Same thing with the U.S if I get into medical school in here, I will stay and practice here. I don't necessarily care where I practice. I just want to know the steps of even getting to apply or whatever is needed so my option to study (and then practice) in the U.K are open.

Google "Trinity Atlantic Bridge Program for Medical School." This may be the kind of thing you're looking for.

Consider how you're going to finance an international medical education as a US citizen, as the Dept of Education won't finance the true international medical schools. Also, the UK's undergrad / medical education system is different than ours, and the systems don't align well for a hybrid US undergrad & UK medical education plan, outside programs like Atlantic Bridge. Finally, I would consider researching the UK's NHS healthcare system, as it's a different practice environment than ours.
