PGY-2 here, have completed about 2.5 months of PM&R now and am feeling more comfortable with the flow of the rehab hospital, the material (as much as I can at this point), etc. I don't know which area of PM&R I want to practice for sure but am leaning towards outpatient of some kind, be it sports/MSK/EMG/US/pain.

While I know I am just starting the PM&R portion of my residency, I'm starting to think about fellowship options because I know applications will come up quickly. What types of things should I start doing to build my PM&R-specific resume for fellowship? Thanks all!

Try to get a publication before applications go out. You dont need to cure cancer or be first author just simple research published in the area of interest. Do a poster presentation at a national meeting. Get a good score on you in-service exams.
