hey there,
the exam was fine on the 1 st day.
the preps were 19 MO. 3 3/4 and 8 pfm.
and on the 2nd day they screwed us.
the preps were 3 3/4 ,6 pfm and the most dreaded 19 DO.
even the examiners do not know how to grade it.
probably they r gonna take that in consideration.
the staff was very helpful and made us comfortable.
i wish everone good luck who took the exam

What's big deal with 19 DO ?
I would go with 55 instead of 56.
# 6 takes long time for prep. I agree.
Thanks for posting Dhaval.

The deal with 19 do is, if you do normal IDEAL cl II then u will leave behind whole DB cusp undermined (5th cusp), so ideally for that one has to do enemaloplasty or have to remove whole cusp...................... thats what one can not do in bench...................

i think the problem with the 19do is that the mesial side marginal ridge should be a dove taail, not the regular fishtail!

What ivshah says pretty much sums up the problem regarding 19do in the Bench.

hmm...I guess undermining of enamel (DB cusp) can be avoided by keeping buccal proximal wall almost straight, and you can still maintain occlusal convergence of proximal box by adjusting lingual proximal wall.
Wish I could draw here.
Thanks ivshah, very good point.

I am not agree with gsmm's dovetail/fishtail point.
I would follow anatomy on tooth, even plastic ones, not all of them are identical.
And why not fishtail ? It can be done on lower molars unlike upper ones.

in 19 do, there is no fishtail - as on mesial side there is only 1 developmental groove, thats the central groove, so we just have to go till mesial pit and come back.........so i think no extension in any other secondary grooves to make fish tail.
