I'm not quite 8th degree yet (maybe another 40years). But I whooped a bigger, college-aged black belt once when I was in high school , and yes, I'll be going to med school.

My adopted mom's dad (I guess, adopted grandfather?) was either 7th or 8th degree blackbelt in judo, and he was a philosophy prof somewhere. I'm not sure what his degree was, but it was basically 2 degree less than the grandmaster of judo (which no one can get).
