Hi, Just wondering what you all use for arrythmia resources. I've gone through ACLS algorithms. Just wondering what else you use to learn how to manage them? Specially I am wondering about stable and unstable bradycardia, stable and unstable narrow complex tachycardia, stable and unstable wide complex tachy. Or if anyone has a good checklist that they use that would be greatly appreciated. I am wondering because I'm an intern in the ICU and was called to an unstable pt with afib/aflutter on the monitor and was a little rusty on how to manage (my attending was with me and ran the show)

You’re an intern. You’re not supposed to run the show alone. There should be seniors then attending you rely on.

Follow your Acls, with the card or app. Witnessed unstable rhythm, will be shock. Everything else, temporizing measures until someone who knows better show up or start the code.

Few “comforting” thoughts for you. 1. When you’re “coding” them, “technically” they’re already dead, you can’t really make them deader, so you can’t really mess up... 2. I’ve involved with lots of codes. I can honestly tell you, I’ve never seen anyone walk out of the hospital..... (other than one who had a witness VT after induction of anesthesia, but pt also had a lower ex procedure, so pt didn’t really walk out of the hospital either.) you’re safe there too.

Good luck. A lot to learn as an intern. More and more responsibility will be given/bestowed to you soon, don’t hasten your own journey.
