Best med party schools

Sounds like terrible criteria for picking a med school but a more serious answer would be any that are on the campus of a large undergrad.
 
Can't say any specifics mate, but just about every medical school goes WILD after an exam or block is finished. I don't mean kids having a beer or 2 and discussing how relieving it is to be done.

Why though? Serious question...I've never been a partier. Had my first child at 19 so never will be one, but still curious....Why risk the possible sexual assault allegations, drunken escapades and DUIs? Like...it makes no sense.

High stress environment. I don't party with substances or even alcohol, I'm just happy to catch up with friends, but people go wild. I think part of it is the fact that many students cram the week of an exam, close to 100+ hours of studying, so after the test they're going to go crazy. Alcohol abuse is rampant in medical school.

uh because its fun......and because responsible people can have fun without sexual assault allegations and DUIs...
 
My med school literally had a post step-1 party in the swankiest building on campus with unlimited free alcohol provided by the school. Everybody was destroyed. Blacked out trying to dance. Serving free alcohol to blacked out Med students. This happened year after year and I’m sure is still going on. It blows my mind the school would do this and open itself up to such liability. But apparently it’s totally normal. Because tradition?

Are you at Keck lol?? Half joking, half serious. My school does something similar, wild ragers hosted by the SOM, but the faculty all "call it quits" at 9pm...the students rage until ???? Last year's party went until 2am and I think the cops showed up lmfao

It’s honestly embarrassing when you look back on it only 5 years later.

The first two years of Med school are a devolution from the college frat party scene.

College seniors, listen up. If you’re annoyed that all your friends are growing up getting jobs and getting married and starting families and you just want to go back in time to sophomore year and rage again, good news! Just take the mcat and go to an old established medical school. You can delay adulthood for another 2 full years.

Had trouble hooking up in college and sad you missed all that because you were ugly or shy or something? Just go to the undergrad bars and say you are a Med student. It doesn’t matter what else comes out of your mouth after that.

We literally, and I say literally as in I am not making this up, had undergrad fraternities vacate their houses and let the Med school use them for various parties on weekends.

The stuff that went on the first 2 years of Med school were just bonkers. Half the class should have been rightfully expelled for professionalism violations if anyone cared to look at their extracurricular activities.

I go to school here. What I described above is exactly what we do.

Every year the whole school packs up, faculty and all, to spend a weekend in key west drinking margaritas, smoking cigars, and singing along to cover bands until the wee hours of the morning. Oh and we do a bunch of screening for hep C and htn and stuff.

A 3 night cruise to the Bahamas with your entire med school class is exactly as exciting/hilarious as you would imagine.

And yea I know it’s embarrassing to a degree. But if you spend 80+ hours a week working your butt off, you deserve to have fun sometimes - provided no one is breaking any laws.

I'd have to give it to the other med school in NOLA. Some of the s*** I saw when going out with the LSU med students still blows my mind. Maybe the culture has flipped since I've been there, but at that time LSU med students put almost every UG institution I've partied at to shame (along with Tulane Med) and that counts almost every Big Ten school including Wisconsin and then some.

Miami might be my favorite city, this place is party haven. Arguably the best nightlife on the globe. But I've heard mixed things about the environment of the med school. Regardless, I hope to get in tomorrow :happy:

If I end up going to Tulane I'll be sure to hit up the LSU students across the street :laugh:
 
Interesting. Might be that top medical schools party hard; the students there might have an easier time grasping the material or just be more intense. I've heard from a number of sources that students at MIT (!) party pretty hard.
