What were your best educational purchases during residency?
Any educational purchases you regret why?
Any recommendations for a good educational purchase?

Leaded glasses (Oakley Crankshafts I believe) for the OR and a second customized lead apron (our program provided us with one).

At least we were allowed to use CME money on stuff like that and I couldn’t spend $1500 on books and conferences every year. I barely use my loupes but that could be a good choice, though my program also provided those.

Your program should do that if you are going to do all that free surgery for the hospital. That ultimately your attendings billed later when they were in an entirely different room operating at the same time.
