Hi there!

I'm a potential future medical school applicant, but more importantly, I have been fortunate to have my medical costs taken care of through my parents' plan, and won't be really entering the healthcare system as an individual for a couple years.

I was a little young and didn't take too much active interest in the ACA, but now that I'm a bit older and healthcare policy is such a hot-button topic, I'd really like to inform myself on the basics and core ideas behind the US healthcare system.

I'd like to take a ground-up approach to this, starting from the basics and then going into the more nuanced stuff. I have been listening to Vox's 'The Weeds' podcast, which is pretty interesting (obvious big liberal slant), and was curious if there was anything comparable on the right to get both sides of the issue.

Anyway, I'd take any recommendations about how to learn about US healthcare policy! I have found a few books with msotly seem to be from the 2000's, and I wonder if they are somewhat "out of date" with the ACA etc.

I don't care the format! Books, articles, journals, podcasts - it's all good!
