Basically, I'm torn between trying to do it before interview season (i.e. before October of 3rd year)... and doing it post-interview season (i.e. March of 4th year or later).
I had been leaning toward getting all my requireds done, all my ducks lined up in a row, then having several months at the end to do all the "fun stuff". But now I'm considering whether it might be beneficial to do my international rotations earlier, perhaps towards the end of 3rd year.
1. Some extra experiences to talk about on interview trail.
2. Possibility that these rotations may sway my choice of specialty; who knows? Perhaps some international experiences in my specialties of interest will inspire me in some way... especially if my domestic experiences in those fields at my home institution don't "pan out" the way I want them to.
Thoughts?
