I've been in both and currently in a Blue state. I think physicians in Red states have it better.
Move to a state where the weather is pleasant, the women are pretty, the food is outstanding, and the music makes you dance.
We all make plenty of money. We can afford nice houses, nice cars, and travel comfortably. Over time, you'll have enough money to tell anybody you want to f$#@ off.

Poor is one thing, sustaining massive debts and claiming to be successful is another. My liberal state is "rich" but close to bankruptcy...Well 19 of the 20 poorest states are Red, you tell me

its pretty clear.
better to practice medicine and make more money in a red state. reason: nobody wants to live there. the same reason you can buy a 5000 square foot home in alabama for 300k.
if you want your kids to get a reasonable education, its a no-brainer to live in a blue state.
