Asking for a friend. At her University, there are 2 different biochem, both 4 credits. One is at the 3000 and the other a 4000 level class. The 3000 level class is significantly easier than the 4000 level class. As long as you do your work in the 3000 level class, you'll get an A (all exam questions are straight forward and some can be found by studying from the classes quizliiit page). The 4000 level class is known as one of the most difficult in our school. Only 10% can get A's, another 5% get A-, 5% get B+, 20% get B, etc., and the rest get a lower grade. The class is graded on a curve and is only exam based (while the 3000 level course has other busywork assignments with exams making up only 60% of the class, and it offers up to 10% extra credit).
Will medical schools know that she took the "less rigorous" class? They have similar names. (One is called intro to biochem, the other, fundamentals of biochem). I know many people who take the 4000 level class and get a B/C, while almost everyone in the 3000 level gets an A
