Why do some schools require general biology and some do not? Does this necessarily mean those programs which don't require the general biology are not as good as those who do? For someone who is older and not just finishing up a first degree it's appealing to apply for those programs which don't require the year of general bio, but not a good move if those programs are not worth being in. Thoughts?

@JPSKYS:

The decision to require or not require general biology I and II with lab (or without) is independent of program quality. Indiana University is in the top 20% nationally and rising in the rankings. We do not require biology I and II.

This is a matter of faculty preference and their understanding of what courses are essential to success in their PT program. Are biology I and II helpful? Sure. Are they essential to success in PT programs? If they were, all programs would require them.
