Why? Because it's a common pre-med major?
Although it's often considered an "easier" science major relative to stuff like chemistry or physics, I'd still be proud of it had I majored in it. It still takes a reasonable amount of hard work to do well in, and it's a science degree. -2 cents

Nothing wrong with it. As long as you enjoy it, go for it. Just avoid associating with arrogant premeds and you're fine. Also, avoid premed clubs like AMSA, which are generally useless, unless if it's something similar to @Ismet, then go for it.

Why? I only get embarrassed when other bio majors at my school walk into class or Barnes and Nobles wearing scrubs carrying a USMLE Step 1 book.

Nothing to be embarrassed of unless you major in it solely because you think you should to get into med school. Even more so if you wished you majored in something else but were scared to. But if you like bio and can deal with all the obnoxious premeds filling your classes, why be ashamed?

Biology has my heart ... Not physics, not chemistry, but biology. Major in whatever you are curious about most and you will be one happy undergrad student!!!

I did biochemistry which is a step up I guess. Biology is much more interesting than physics or chemistry to me tho

I was biology up until the first semester of my sophomore year and I switched to psychology. FAR more interesting applicable to my volunteer work, plus I have to do a research project for my degree, so automatic research experience! I am keeping a bio minor, though. For me, I would only be ashamed if I had completed my biology degree and always wished I had done something I was better at and enjoyed more, but I would only be ashamed of myself, not the hordes if premed clones who graduated with me.

I hated my major initially (as a freshman when I didn't care/try in school), but now I love it and find it so fascinating. I would be a biology major again if given the chance.
