my mom had a blood test the other day and now it's a huge purple spot and it's puffy/swollen. should we be concerned?

what if his doctor referred him to sdn?;) Anyways, it's probably a hematoma (assuming it's at the needle entry point?). If it becomes hot, painful, really big, etc, you should go back to see your doctor.

it happens once in awhile,usually if the person taking the blood didn't do it right, or missed it and had to puncture it again. but if you are concerned, see a doctor

It's easy to create a small hematoma after drawing blood. These typically resolve in a few days, unless a patient has a coagulopathy.

If you're still concerned about this, see a doctor in person. SDN isn't the best place for medical advice.

Then she probably had it drawn at my school :p
