I just took my first (end of second year) OSCE. I went in quite confident...not about the process (the bell ringing and doctors staring at you with clipboards making notes kind of made me nervous) but about my clinical skills....I thought I knew my stuff!
All of my histories went well...and one physical exam was good. But... I was unable to complete the physicals on the rest of the stations!! I just ran out of time over and over and over again! I knew how to do everything and I wasn't scrambling to think of what to do...(maybe took a breath here and there to calm nerves but not really anything to speak of)....I just couldn't get through the tests!! I couldn't believe it! I know it's my own fault for now timing myself while I was preparing for the OSCE but I never thought that 7 minutes would be so short!!!
I'm TERRIFIED that I failed!!
Has anyone else had the same experience? How do I get faster? I'm so discouraged by all this..... *sigh*
