OK, I've been studying every day for 8-10 hrs since finals and the boards are still 2 weeks away. I'm getting stir crazy! What are the rest of you doing to keep sane until COMLEX 1 is over? A little amusement from the peanut gallery out there if you please!

I hear ya Ice. I am the same way. I try to work out in the evening to break up the reading/studying/spacing off. When I can't read anymore, I try to do questions or go bug one of my classmates in the study rooms next to me for some on-the-spot quizzing.

But then again, porn is always an option! 🙂

What are you using as your main study reference? I took Northwestern review and have a couple of their books but have been going through First Aid alot and trying to annotate it (put down whatever I remember about a disease, drug or whatever that may be related to the topic). I just got through the entire thing today, hope to go through it several more times and I'm doing the questions too. Do you know what the passing percent is? I have heard several stories and I don't even know what the tops score is! See 'ya later!

good luck guys.... I just know each of you will do really well!

My main study book is First Aid, since I have spent the last year and a half writing everything in it that our profs said will probably be on boards. As far as extra references, here is what I am using:
Physiology: BRS (blue book)
Pathology: High Yield and Pathophys for Boards and Wards; Robbins Companion for the questions; Webpath for pics
Micro: Clinical Micro Made Redicuously Simple (awesome book)
Anatomy: High Yield
Embryo: High Yield
Pharm: Pharm Recall and Katzung Board Review
OPP: Simmons and Savarese

Questions: USMLEasy website, Qbank for USMLE and COMLEX, Board Simulator, and whatever else I can get my hands on

I have three more days for path and then biochem and behavior sciences and I will be done. Then try to get through First Aid two more times, read USMLE Secrets, and do questions the rest of the time

Hopefully that will be suffice.

MY gripe of the day:

If the basic tenets of Osteopathic medicine emphasize the body's ability to heal itself,

WHY DO WE HAVE TO KNOW SO MUCH g**DAMN PHARM FOR COMLEX?????? 😡 blah blah blah bugs and drugs, drugs and bugs, blah blah blahhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

We have to know the pharm so that we can have intellegent conversations with the drug reps!

Anyone know a good source for some really difficult questions? It would be nice to practice with questions that have a good chance of being harder than the ones we will have on the COMLEX.

Pass on the poop!

Nah..... you just have to nod and accept the free lunches.

4 days until boards! Anyone out there with tips on how to avoid the total brain exhaustion? I ate lunch with 4 other classmates today (all taking the boards) and we all are like zombies from studying! At this rate we will be lucky just to stay awake long enough to answer the questions!

I've pretty much just accepted that I know what I know, and making myself crazy at this point is not going to help. I knew I had gone too far the other day when I left my house for the first time around 6pm to get some food and I honestly felt like a vampire in the sun. It hurt my eyes. I knew at that point that I was losing my mind.

So...for the next 3 days...I'm going to read thru step up at a leisurely pace, and maybe scan thru the rapid review in the back of FA. Thats it. I'm pretty sure nothing else will fit in my tiny brain at this point anyway.

Oh and one more thing...I'm going to try to get myself back on a normal human sleeping schedule so that 7am doesn't feel like the middle of the night next Tuesday!

Good luck everyone! Its almost over! And just think...then the waiting begins!
