To anyone that has interviewed at BU...
I interviewed there about a month ago and they said that after they met to review my file I'd receive something in the mail saying that I was acceptable, or at least that's what the interviewer told me. Has anyone received such a letter? I haven't heard anything from them since my interview and I'm quite unnerved. But i haven't checked my mail in a couple of weeks..so I'm hoping something is there! thanks so much

I enterviewed at BU in October and recieved the "acceptable" letter a few weeks later. I think I am going to withdraw my app though. I was totally unimpressed with the school st my interview.

i got such a letter - i can't remember if it was exactly a month later or not. i think they said the first acceptances they were going to send out were 2/15 ish. hope that helps. i'd be patient if i were you. as the months pass, i think the schools are falling even farther behind, not catching up.

Hi,

I got my "acceptable" letter about a month after my interview as well. In the letter, they specifically ask you to send them a letter stating your interest if you are indeed really interested. So the letter basically says, "Well, we think we may accept you, but only if you tell us you really, really want to come."

By the way, I agree--the interview "day" was weird and left me feeling, to use a made up word, exthused. The hospitals were great and my faculty interviewer was amazing, but the vibe was just not there--all the students said that they went to BU because it was in Boston. While location is definitely a motivating factor in where one chooses to go to school, I do not think it should necessarily be the only factor and the only factor talked about by student tour guides. You know what I mean? (Maybe they should have just chosen different tour guides...)

Good luck!

I thought it was a little weird that the "acceptable" letter asked for a letter back if you are really interested. My interviewer actually told me I should do this too. I think BU must be a back-up for a lot of people. Well I think I just won't write them a letter, than I have a feeling they will get the message. I agree that the students all seemed unenthused about the school. Everything there seemed just mediocre to me. But then, that was just my meager opinion.

tg78,

I think I am very likely going to send them a note withdrawing my application soon--I'm sure there are some people really want to go to BU because they like BU (and not just because "it's in Boston") and I feel like I don't want the school to waste its time on me, who has little to no interest in going, when the adcom could be spending that time on those who really do want to go...

Of course, I say this after sitting on their request for over a month now. It's just hard to let go sometimes. ;)

I just found this interesting info from someone's post on interviewfeedback.com:

•••quote:••• At BU I it seems most people that interview make the acceptable list, unless your interview goes really bad. I was told last year they went through almost the entire acceptable list to fill the incoming class.••••We're all gettin' in!!!! :D

Nope, I received the acceptable letter a couple weeks back. Today I received the double sized acceptance packet. I am really excited..this means I get to stay in Mass! :)

WOW congratulations goose!!!!!!!

I'm jealous .......but happy for you! :D

GOOSEHC: can you please share your stats or PM me?

Thanks Foxy...I bet good news is in the mail for you too..that Boston to Waltham mail route is slow I bet! and I bet they send out letters all week in batches...so keep checking that mailbox and good luck!!!

Congratulations, goosehc! I hope I get mine too. If I don't, pester one the fellows at the BU class and force him/her to quit and keep doing so until BU gives me the call. Of course, leave any BU SDNer out of it. I shall pay you handsomely.
