Boston University Reject!!!

So, I called Boston University to ask about my application. It had been complete since october of last year. According to them if I didn't receive anything by now, I should consider myself in the unfavorable pool! So, I guess I'll be expecting the letter any day now with the infamous "We are sorry to inform you...." So I guess that leaves me with UCLA, UCLA/DREW, USC, Mt Sinai (that's another rejection bound to happen as well!), NYMC (what's up with them? I've been complete with them since late september!), Loma Linda, and University of Washington. It's kind of weird how this whole thing turns out at the end. At first I thought that I had a higher chance of attending a school out of state than instate, and now after many months of pain and frustration, it seems like the tables have turned and now I have a higher chance of attending a school instate...if everything goes well!!! Pray for me people!!!

I'm praying for you, Dr. Don! However, since I have not heard anything from Boston since I was insane enough to fork over $100 in application fees, I will have to admit that your post doesn't make me happy! Darn! I really wanted to go there too! Hopefully, this is one of those cases where whoever you talked to does not have a clue as to what they are talking about! Good luck!

I remember their secondary materials said to contact them if you've heard nothing by March 1. I'm sure that they didn't revise them for this nightmare year, so I would guess that date should be pushed back a little. So I think there still might be time with them. I'd send some sort of letter indicating strong interest to try to get your app noticed (send it Express), if you really like the school (I know, it's more like a love-hate relationship, at this point!! :wink: ).

Oh, no! It does look like I threw $100 away, after all! I hope that I least get a sealed envelope with a signature this time around! My last rejection (from another school) came in the form of a pre-printed postcard! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="eek.gif" />

I'm going to call tomorrow morning and cancel my interview - so maybe they'll give it to you Dr. Don. Call and express extreme interest - they like that there - I think that's how I got my interview.

hi im also one of many souls who did not hear from Boston U and am pissed off that my 100 dollars went to waste
i couldve gotten a few cool Armani tshirts or maybe had a goood night out partying but oh well

Do you guys realize they make a cool million from us every year? Average of 10000 apps * $100. That's crazy. I'm gonna start my own damn med school.

I'm still pre-int too, so I'm guessing the rejection should come pretty soon. Oh well, screw 'em, I like Tufts better.

Sooo, let me get this correct...all the BU rejections so far are PRE-interview? correct? Has anyone gotten bad news since that "acceptable" crap letter??
