My husband is starting medical school this coming August (2003) and at that time I will be taking the MCAT. This means that we will be a year off from eachother in school.

Anybody have both spouses both going to medical school? Any suggestions? What about the problem of being a year off from eachother? Is this situation doable?

Can it be done? certainly. It depends on the two of you. I just started my first year and my girlfriend is interviewing for residency. We're 1 year apart in terms of age, but 3 years apart in our medical careers. We're not married, but we're discussing it and will probably happen when I'm a MS-III.

Another option for your husband to do is to take a year off after his 4th year and wait so the two of you can apply to residency programs together. I know of someone who actually did this.
