Does anyone know if this section is complete overkill or is it high yield test worthy material? I've read most of it already but it seems like material that is way too detailed and in-depth to be covered on the MCAT. I've never heard of most of these tests besides the Tollen's and a huge emphasis is on epimers, D/L sugars, and amino acids. It does not seem like too many other companies cover this. Any thoughts?

I don't know if its overkill, but it seemed really basic compared to what we did in orgo 2 with carbohydrates. To me the chapter didn't even see that bad. The stuff you could get away with (aka the stuff I don't think you need to know) is the Kiliani Fischer, Ruff, Wohl, Aldaric/Aldonic stuff. Everything else seems important.
