Has anyone used both BRS and Lippincott to study for a particular subject and found that one was clearly better?

I'm especially curious which is more helpful for the Biochem shelf exam (because I'll be taking it soon). But comments about other subjects or pertaining to step I studying would be great too.

Thanks!

BRS over Lippincott for shelf exams.

Aren't they written by the same company anyway?

Do you mean BRS over Lippincott?

"Board Review Series" and "Lippincott's Illustrated Review" are both published by Lippincott, Williams, and Wilkins. But they have different authors, so I assumed they would be at least a little different...

Thanks,
Brad

I think it really depends upon how you learn. BRS tends to have a really organized structure: main points>subpoints>description and relatively few pictures.
If you tend to draw a mental picture in your head and like to memorize diagrams and flow charts then Lippincott is the way to go.
In any case you should use BRS for pathology.

for biochem..lippincotts difinitely....

for most of the others... BRS should suffice
