I'm looking at taking business calculus this next semester instead of regular calculus because it fits in my schedual ALOT better. I would suspect it would count as the calculus req. but I wanted to check with all of you.

I'll give a few schools a call next week but I was hoping to avoid it.

Thanks,
Ryan

I checked UHCO's requirements and Business calc does NOT count!! I'd check with other schools before enrolling, but usually busines calc is seen as "easier" and not scientific enough.
Hope this helps!
:D

I've had the distinct pleasure of taking both Business calc and Engineering calc. The difficulty level was the same in my opinion, the main difference was in the examples and applications (are there any?).

cpw is right, most opto schools will want a science based math class, even though in the end you learn the same material. I looked around on some schools pages (killing time?) but only found that "Calculus" was required, they weren't specific. I think calling or email would be best.

That is what I have found too, just "calculus". I'll call a couple tomorrow.

Thanks
