Hey everyone. New to the forum. Just wanted to know if anyone out there has heard any communications post-interview from any of the university programs in California (ie, Davis, Stanford, UCLA...). Haven't heard of the west coast programs giving out too much love...

i too have gotten very little correspondence from the california programs. (and i've interviewed at the majority of them).

hopefully it's just because california programs don't send out little letters telling applicants they are interested in them.

since most of the cali programs are pretty sure they will fill, it doesn't seem like they necessarily need to play the "i like you, you like me" games that other programs play.

then again, my talk is purely speculation. and maybe it's just me not getting any correspondence. who knows?

how do the rank lists for cali programs look for all you cali ppl out there?


i sure hope i match in cali. i can't stand this cold weather anymore!

I'm having a really hard time making my rank list. I'm torn between choosing a program that I liked which has no fellowships (and is not a big name univ. program either) vs. programs which have their own fellowship?

Any thoughts?

I think that's the thing with cali. You're just going to have to settle for a lower tier place (but that is strong nonetheless).
I used to think that big name university was the goal, but after this winter, I am SOOOO out of here!
