All Branch Topic (ABT) California Army vs Air National Guard

I’m currently considering joining either the CA Army or Air National Guard, but I’m having difficulty choosing between the two. Can anybody with experience or knowledge of CA ARNG and/or ANG talk about the differences between the two in terms of mission, culture, training, types of units/jobs, differences in deployments, opportunities for advancement, and general pros/cons for each?

For reference, I’m in Los Angeles. The AMEDD recruiter I talked to said he’d put me at the Joint Forces Training Base at Los Alamitos. For ANG I’m most interested in Channel Islands since they have med evac, but open to other options (I also know I probably have limited choice in what specific base I’m stationed at).
