What are some MD schools in California that are friendly to OOS applicants (specifically, from NJ) ?

Stanford & USC

Just to clarify...although USC certainly has less in-state bias than, say, any of the CA public schools, they do seem to have a bit more of a bias than Stanford or Loma Linda (~80% of a USC class are Californians).

Don't know about NJ residents per se, but numbers here are for total OOS from MSAR

TUCOM-CA (30%)
Western ??
Loma Linda (>50%)
Stanford (>50%)
UCSD (~20%)
UCSF (~20%)
USC (~25%)
UCLA (~15%)
You do realize that for the UCs your MCAT should be > 36 and GPA > 3.7?

What Goro said; typically, even if you're competitive at the MSAR medians for MCAT/GPA at a school that has an in-state preference, your numbers will probably have to be higher to compensate for the fact that you're facing more competition for a smaller pool of seats within that entering class. At the UCs, which are already stellar schools to begin with, this means you will basically have to be a top of the line student.

Would you say I, ignoring the stats, have a better chance at 1) Harvard, Hopkins, top 20 vs 2)UCs if all are OOS?
