My own personal opinion base upon people I have asked who I admire due to their years of experience in the field and their stature in the community. Their opinions were base upon school research/funding, the gpa of the students, the reputation of the school, and just personal interactions with the students that they have encountered.

they have too many requirements (i think more than USC), but at least USC is pretty lenient. Western prereqs must be completed by end of spring term as opposed to the summer.

I'm not trying to start a flame here. Sorry if I came out cold when I asked the question. I just wanted to know if you got your ranking from USPHARMD.COM since they has the posting, except they don't have all Califorornia schools. ;)

Why do people rank Loma Linda over Western? I don't think any school should be pushing religion on u. I would always chose Western over Loma Linda.

Don't let the so called ranking to influence your decision. In retrospective, I would have taken the following into consideration:

(1) cost
(2) board passage rate
(3) residency rate
(4) # of rotations
(5) focus of the school (hospital, pbm, retails)

If you are planning to go into retails, it doesn't matter what school you graduated from. As long as you pass the board, you will get a job.

Western, LLU, Touro all have about the same tuition rate. USC is only about 2K more per year compared to those schools. I'd rank it:

1. UCSF
2. USC
3. UCSD
4. UOP
5. Western
6. Loma Linda
7. Touro

Keep in mind UCSD got fully accredited not too long ago and USC has been around since 1905... and was the first school to offer the PharmD.

1. Which one you can get into.
2. All others.

When I was deciding which ones to apply to:

1. Loma Linda
2. Western
3. USC
4. UCSD
5. UCSF
6. Touro
7. UOP

Factors:
Ability to complete prereqs by deadline
Distance from my current home
Cost of living
Lack of an LOR from a non-relative Pharmacist LOR
Cost of school
(not in any particular order)
